After Surgery: LAP-BAND
Congratulations! You had surgery! Bariatric surgery is a major procedure, and recovery doesn’t happen overnight.
It’s important to follow your surgeon’s
postoperative recovery instructions.
Basic Instructions
This varies depending on the type of surgery you had and any other individual issues.
Post-Op Instructions
Support
Your doctor, nurses and the team have each given you specific instructions on how to care for yourself after surgery.
Call the office with questions or concerns.
Please keep in mind that the program information below is an overview unique to our program. Be sure to review the instructions that your bariatric surgeon has provided that are specifically for you.
Adjustable Gastric Banding
After the initial post-op visit, we will see you for your first adjustment at approximately 4 to 6 weeks after surgery. You need to return every 4 to 6 weeks for a band adjustment until you reach the ‘green zone’. Once there, we want to see you every 8 weeks for the first year and every 3 months during the second year and at least annually thereafter for 5 or more years. You need to have lab tests done 10 days before certain appointments so that we may review them when you come.
Our Lap-Band patients come to us from Kernersville, Winston-Salem, Burlington, Greensboro, High Point and adjacent locations. Schedule your seminar right away so you can get the weight loss journey started.
