About Us

Our Quality

At Central Carolina Surgery, we are committed to providing the very best care for our patients. A sign of our commitment is our extensive accreditation which is a marker of proven quality.

American College of Surgeons

CCS bariatric surgeons are Fellows of the American College of Surgeons. The letters FACS (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon’s name mean that the surgeon’s education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established by and demanded by the College.

American Board of Surgery

CCS bariatric surgeons have attained board certification through the American Board of Surgery (ABS). Board certification by the ABS is a voluntary process that demonstrates a surgeon’s commitment to lifelong learning and quality patient care. Board certification by the ABS recognizes individuals who have met a defined set of standards in education, training, and knowledge specifically in the area of general surgery and its related specialties.

American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery

CCS bariatric surgeons are members of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). ASMBS is the largest national medical organization dedicated to metabolic and bariatric surgery. Its mission is to advance the art and science of metabolic and bariatric surgery by continually improving the quality and safety of care and treatment of people with obesity and related diseases.

MBSAQIP Comprehensive Accredited Center

Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program

Central Carolina Surgery is distinguished as an accredited MBSAQIP center in conjunction with Wesley Long Hospital. Achieving this prestigious designation recognizes that we have undergone an independent, voluntary, and rigorous peer evaluation in accordance with nationally recognized bariatric surgical standards. MBSAQIP acknowledges those programs that implement defined standards of care, document their outcomes, and participate in regular reviews to evaluate their bariatric surgical programs.

We are partners in your weight loss.

From exercise programs to help you maintain weight loss, to nutritional and psychological counseling, we’re here every step of the way.

Our team lays the foundations for successful postoperative outcomes by providing our patients with a thorough preoperative education, preparation, and support program.

NO residents. NO fellows. NO PAs.

During surgery, two board-certified surgeons perform your procedure. This comprehensive process and operating room set-up distinguishes our program from other programs in the Triad.
